Hi, I’m Emily Laratta, the owner and curator behind Opal West Boutique!
Born and raised in Horry County, South Carolina, I’ve been immersed in the world of fashion for as long as I can remember. Even as a little girl, I loved putting together outfits that made a statement. While others might have thought my looks were “too much,” I always loved standing out, expressing myself, and embracing my own unique style.
Owning a clothing boutique has been a dream of mine since childhood. Although the journey to bringing that dream to life took a little longer than I once imagined, I truly believe that everything happens in its own time. Today, I’m so proud to say that dream has become a reality, and Opal West Boutique is here!
The name Opal West is a reflection of two things that mean so much to me. Opal comes from my birthstone, while West represents the western influence woven throughout many of the pieces I hand-select. Together, they capture the spirit of the boutique: unique finds, statement pieces, and a little western flair.
In 2026, I was honored to be recognized by Grand Strand Magazine as one of the area's most stylish, as well as being named one of the Grand Strand's Best & Brightest 35 & Under by B2B Magazine in its Grand Strand edition. These recognitions mean so much to me, and I’m incredibly grateful to be able to share my passion for fashion with the community I’ve always called home.
My hope is that every piece I curate brings you just as much joy as it brings me. Whether you're searching for a standout outfit, a new favorite piece, or something that simply makes you feel a little more you, I want Opal West to be a place where you can embrace your individuality and have fun with fashion.
